Overview of Recruitment 2024 Rounds

Wednesday, January 19th: Recruitment Orientation 
Your recruitment experience will begin with Recruitment Orientation on January 19th at 9:30 PM in Doyle North. On this day, you will be assigned to your recruitment group and Recruitment Counselor. Your Recruitment Counselor will provide you with all the information you need to have a fun and stress-free week! 

 

Friday, January 21st: Day 1: Meet the Sisters/Philanthropy Round
Recruitment begins with a chance to get you to know the benefits of sorority membership. These recruitment parties will give you the opportunity to get to know individual sorority members, ask questions, and find out what sorority life is all about. During the first recruitment round, known as Philanthropy Round, sororities will share with you the responsibilities and benefits of going Greek as well as their sorority's philanthropic cause. The philanthropy round will be from 4:45 pm - 11:30 pm.

 

Suggested Dress: Jeans/Casual

Saturday, January 22nd: Day 2: Sisterhood Round
The second night of recruitment allows the potential new members the chance to visit up to four sororities again in an informal setting. A crucial part of sorority life is the sisterhood bond shared between its members. During the Sisterhood Round, each sorority will have the opportunity to share its mission and values with the potential new members, and provide the girls with some insight into the ideals for which they stand. Sisterhood round will be from 11:00 - 3:30 pm.

 

Suggested Dress: Business Casual

Each potential new member is permitted to attend a maximum of TWO Preference Morning Parties!

 

Sunday, January 23rd: Day 3: Preference Morning Round
The third and final round of recruitment, Preference Morning, is a sentimental ceremony in which the active members demonstrate to the potential new members their bonds of sisterhood and what their sorority truly means to them. Potential Members are included in the ceremony/rituals and should use this night to help make their decision concerning which sorority makes them feel most at home. Listen carefully to what the women say; they are revealing to you the strongest characteristics of their chapter. Potential new members may attend as many as two parties during this round. Preference morning round will be from 10:15 am - 2:00 pm.

 

Suggested Dress: Cocktail Attire

 

 

Sunday, January 23rd: Bid Night

Bid Day is the last event of Recruitment! It is the night potential new members receive their invitation, or bid, to join a sorority, It is an exciting night because it is when potential new members meet their new sorority sisters. Recruitment Counselors distribute bids that night, following the distribution of bids the potential new members are introduced to their new sorority. Dress casually! Bid Night will be from 6:20 pm - 9:45 pm. Excitement levels are HIGH!
