As we wrap up Spring 2024 Recruitment, we would like to share a message from our upcoming VPMR, Nicolette Mortelliti.

Hi PNMs, New Members, and Sisters!!

It feels like yesterday that I went through formal recruitment my freshman year and found my forever home. I remember how nervous yet excited I was to go through the process, having no idea where I would end up. Last year I was fortunate enough to go through recruitment on the chapter side, where I was able to help settle some of those same nerves in the PNMs that stood before me each round. Now, as I am approaching what will be my last sorority recruitment, I get to see it through the Panhellenic side, promoting unity among all seven of our valuable chapters on campus. I recognize that not everyone is as lucky to go through formal recruitment from three different perspectives, and I am ever so grateful for my greek sisters’ help throughout this past recruitment weekend.

The Panhellenic community has already taught me how much the greek experience here at Saint Joe’s has truly impacted my life for the better. I have sisters not only in my organization, but in every other chapter here on campus. Someone to turn to when times are rough, when I need advice, or just when I am feeling down. I am so so eager to see all of you new members (those of you who received bids, who were just recently COBed, or actively searching to COB) thrive in your new home on campus, make those new life lasting friendships in the Panhellenic community, and to share your individuals chapter’s values with those around you. My one piece of advice for all of you is to trust in your gut and continue to step out of your comfort zone. It is inspiring that so many of you rushed during formal recruitment and are actively searching for a new home during informal, as it can be overwhelming and scary.

I would not be where I am today, thrilled to be leading the Panhellenic community, without stepping out of my own comfort zone. I cant wait to see all enjoy your time at SJU, like I have so far.

With love,

Nicolette Mortelliti
