
Recruitment Rules

If a student has achieved a GPA at SJU, she must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5 (no rounding) and completed at least 12 credit units in order to participate in recruitment. All incoming first-year students and new transfers must provide their high school GPAs on the registration form but do not have a minimum GPA requirement.

If a PNM signs a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) and then chooses not to join the chapter that extended the bid, she is ineligible to participate in the recruitment process until the next Primary Recruitment process (usually one calendar year).

If a PNM does not receive a bid during Primary Recruitment, she is eligible for Continuous Open Bidding (COB).

A person who is an initiated member of an existing NPC sorority shall not be eligible for membership in another NPC sorority.

The use of alcoholic beverages in recruitment functions is prohibited.

The participation of men in recruitment functions is prohibited.

A Potential New Member shall attend Orientation and all the parties to which she has received invitations.

During Primary Recruitment, in the event of an illness or other emergencies, a PNM should notify her Recruitment Counselor or the Panhellenic Advisor as soon as possible.
Potential New Member (PNM) Rights:

The right to be treated as an individual.

The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process.

The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers from Recruitment Counselor and sorority members.

The right to be treated with respect.

The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.

The right to ask how and why and receive straight answers.

The right to have and express opinions to Recruitment Counselors.

The right to have confidentiality when sharing information with Recruitment Counselors.

The right to be informed about the binding agreements implicit in the preference card signing.

The right to make one’s own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision.

The right to have a positive, safe, and enriching recruitment and new member experience.
